We are extremely excited to be hosting our first ever arts fest called the Quetzal Art Fest in Pilsen in 13 days, in collaboration with The Resurrection Project and their 25th year anniversary! Below, please find a program for the day of the event, along with workshops and a DJ set hosted by some of Vocalo’s finest DJs.

Be sure to arrive early to watch our muralists and live painters create their masterpieces, which will be donated to local non-profits and showcased at Capital One 360 Cafe. See just a few of the 20+ artists who will be displaying their artwork that day.

The Need
Design and create various types of deliverables in a collaborative, engaged, and team-oriented environment. Act as a creative resource, working with lead and senior designers to identify internal client design needs and provide them with creative and dynamic solutions. Collaborate with writers, editors, proposal development, marketing, and virtual design/3D staff. The graphic design summer intern position is based in Chicago, Illinois, within the Core Creative Services Group.

Responsibilities
Individual should be self-motivated and able to follow-through on assignments under the direction and guidance of staff manager, lead, or senior designers. Plan, analyze, and create visual solutions.
Develop graphics for small and large format print and digital media. Design innovative identities for packaging proposals and presentations in print and digital format. Prepare final layout for print and assist with the production process internally or with vendors. Understand brand and the importance of brand standards and be able to apply established standards and formats when necessary. Work well independently and in a team setting. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements
·         A graphic design major in their junior or senior year of college is preferred.
·         Candidate’s portfolio must demonstrate a good eye for typography, color, composition, and creativity.
·         Demonstrated working knowledge using Adobe Creative Cloud (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat); or version 6 at the minimum, along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). A good understanding of print production processes
·         Ability to translate business information into compelling visuals, e.g., infographics, icons, charts, and graphs. Create maps and work with architectural and engineering drawings and information a plus.
·         Additionally, the ability to create and edit web graphics, along with skills in HTML, CSS, Flash, Dreamweaver, and Web design are highly desirable; HTML5 experience is a plus.
·         Strong interpersonal skills; can express and present ideas, listen well, and work in a team environment.
·         Solid writing/proofing skills.
·         Good problem-solving and organizational skills.

Illumivation Studios - Facilities Assistant Wanted



Facilities Assistant
Illumivation Studios is a creative design and fabrication studio. We work with clients to create props, sets, displays, exhibits, and decorations.
Our shop is seeking a part-time Facilities Assistant to work with our staff on cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the shop to ensure fluidity of work flow for artists. The selected candidate must become oriented with the layout of the studio, encompassing the paint, construction, and sculpture departments. This is hands-on position that will enhance staff productivity and safety. Specific duties include:
·         Maintaining a clean workspace
·         Ensuring the proper placement of tools and supplies
·         Ordering tools throughout projects
·         Minor maintenance of facilities
·         General assistant to the staff
·         Other duties as assigned
This is a great opportunity for students and others interested in careers in the creative arts. There may be educational opportunities for basic training on the use of advanced production tools. Starting pay is $9.00 per hour for 10-15 hours per week, possibly more during busy times. We are hoping to fill the position as soon as possible.
