General Art Instructor

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
The Palatine Park District is seeking a friendly, energetic, dependable, and creative instructor to teach beginning level General Art classes for ages 6 to 7. Classes are fun and should be designed to encourage students to exercise their imaginations while learning skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, and more.

The ideal candidate will be versatile, organized, and possess excellent classroom management skills. Candidate should be familiar with a variety of visual art mediums including watercolor, pastels, collage, clay, sketching, or display competence in similar mediums.

This candidate will report to the Cultural Arts Coordinator in the Dept. of Recreation. Candidates are expected to be highly responsible, motivated, professional, punctual, and willing to share their passion for art with young students.

DAYS/HOURS:        Fridays, 4:00-5:00pm, January 20-March 3, with the possibility of teaching further courses

CLOSING DATE:      Until Filled

STARTING RATE OF PAY:  $15.00 per hour

Call for Art - Bridgeport Art Center Competition

BRIDGEPORT ART CENTER 5TH ANNUAL ART COMPETITION - CALL FOR ENTRIES

BRIDGEPORT ART CENTER is excited to announce a CALL FOR ENTRIES for our 5TH ANNUAL ART COMPETITION.
The competition is open to artists 18 years of age and older, at all stages in their careers, who are living or working within 150 miles of the City of Chicago.  Work must have been created within the last three years.  The competition accepts a broad range of art media and styles.  Not eligible are functional pottery, jewelry, clothing, accessories, furniture, other primarily functional art, or time-art such as video and film.
$3,000 in prizes, including a $1,000 BEST OF SHOW prize will be awarded by distinguished jurors Fred Camper and James Yood at the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony on Friday January 20, 7- 10 PM.  The exhibition will then run through March 3, 2017.
