Graphic Designer and Illustrator
This position reports directly to the Design Art Director.

Position Summary
The Graphic Designer and Illustrator position is responsible for significant contribution to the overall exclusive concept, design and illustration of new gift wrap, greeting card and stationery products. This can include calendars, rubber stamps and other paper related items that fundamentally have the Paper Source aesthetic and results in salable designs for our store, catalog and web businesses. Additionally some work on packaging. The position works closely with the Design team, Design Art Director, Product Buyers and GMM, as well as, the CEO of the company.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Creates, designs and develops in collaboration and partnership with the Design and Merchandising team, Paper Source product from conception through production that delivers the true aesthetic of our brand.
• Demonstrates exceptional organizational and time management skills that are guided by self- discipline, personal accountability and participation/partnership; can prioritize and handle multiple projects to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a professional and positive attitude within a team environment.

Graphic Design and Illustrator
• Create original artwork and typographic treatments for the design development of personalized everyday and seasonal cards, stationery, wedding invitation suites, rubber stamps, stickers, calendars, and gift wraps, prompted by annual company line review schedule, driven by in-store set dates.
• Design all 3rd party/PS custom products including aprons, oven mitts, totes, mugs, glasses, plates, napkins, tea towels, office storage, etc, prompted by annual company line review schedule, driven by in-store set dates.
• Present product concepts, at various working stages of development, for review and direction, first from the Design Art Director and GMM, in preparation for and prior to all product line reviews.
• Manage the development of these products, maintaining provided schedules, and populating the Project Development Log (PDL) with all necessary content specific to own projects.
• Design all PS product packaging and labeling, with any necessary instruction sheets, die lines, and templates, keeping consistent with design standards.
• Keep current with trends in Design, stationery, home goods, fashion and related industries, taking time quarterly to participate in inspiration outings with team.
• Participate in seasonal Inspiration/Trend Meetings with team, presenting examples of inspiration and trend for discussion, review and relevance to brand.
• Participate in all Line Kick Off and Review meetings, presenting product concepts to Buyers, GMM and CEO for review and input.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field and a minimum of five years relevant experience in developing fresh and innovative product designs.
• Ability to draw and create realistic interpretations, and create patterns in repeat. Desired background in fine art, painting, drawing or sculpture.
• Demonstrated passion for Paper Source, our products, and a desire to design products that result in the ability to engage our customers in our motto: Do Something Creative Every Day, and the ability to keep up to date on current trends.
• Expert proficiency in Photoshop, Adobe In Design and Illustrator, with knowledge of various paper printing processes.
• Experience in prepress, prep and prepare files for print (preflight) and building final files for output; overseas experience is a plus.
• Ability to thrive and be a team player in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment within a small growing organization.

Responsibilities:
-Professionally communicate with photographers via phone or email
- Investigate and resolve customer problems pertaining to digital files, orders, etc. with minimal supervisor intervention

-Handle incoming customer calls, emails and web chats.
-Data entry of customer information into a CRM database

Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree
- Photography background and industry knowledge preferred

Art Camp Program Leader Wanted



Position:  Camp Art! Program Leader
Pay:  $10/hour
Location:   Devonshire School, 9040 Kostner Avenue, Skokie, IL, 60076

Qualifications
Must be a creative and enthusiastic adult, at least 18 years of age who enjoys working with children ages  8-11 years. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Experience leading groups of children in art related activities preferred. Prior summer camp employment experience is a plus, but not necessary.  Must possess excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.  Experience working in different art mediums strongly desired.

Duties
The program leader is responsible for the direct supervision and safety of the children enrolled in the Camp Art. Works cooperatively with the Camp Director in the planning and implementation of age appropriate art and non-art related activities. Responsible for assisting with camp activities and field trips.  Assists with the operation of the camp and provides a camp experience that is fun, educational, age appropriate and safe for the campers. Responsible for assisting with arts and crafts projects, games, and other activities related to weekly themes.  Prepares program supplies and props as needed.  Sets up camp activities, and responsible for leaving the camp site neat and orderly at the end of the camp day.  Duties include maintaining accurate records and reports.  Attends meetings and training as requested.  Program Leaders perform other assignments as required.

Art Camp Director/Instructor Wanted



Position:  Camp Art! Director and Instructor
Pay:  $15 - $17/hour dependent on experience/qualifications

Qualifications
Must be an energetic, responsible adult at least 21 years of age with a minimum of two years’ experience working with children.  Teaching degree in Art Education, Elementary Education or a related field preferred.  Must have strong presentation, communication, organizational and leadership/supervisory skills.

Duties
Camp Art! is an art themed summer day camp for children in grades 3 through 6 that are aged 8 to 11 years old.  The Camp Art! Director is responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 20 – 25 campers enrolled in the camp and the supervision of two camp program leaders.  Duties include  planning, implementing, instructing  and  monitoring  daily camp activities.  The Director provides an age appropriate, safe and orderly camp environment that meets the needs of the camp participants and their families.  Responsible for following safety procedures and camp guidelines to ensure the safety of all campers and assigned staff.   Communicates with parents on a daily basis in a professional and friendly manner and informs parents of any problems or concerns that occurred during the camp day.  Plans and instructs daily art activities and projects utilizing a variety of mediums and materials that may include watercolors, acrylics, clay and other materials.  Creates indoor and outdoor activities that focus on multimedia and three dimensional works.  With the assistance of program leaders, leads campers in outdoor activities, games and sports.  Plans and leads two family nights that showcase session 1 and session 2 of the summer camp.  In conjunction with the Camp Supervisor, plans field trips, swim trips, and welcomes guest artists that have scheduled visits to the camp.  Duties also include assisting the Camp Supervisor with training staff,  and preparation of weekly schedules and newsletters.  Maintains all camp supplies and equipment and sets up and puts away camp supplies and equipment daily.  The Director is responsible for ensuring that the camp site is left neat and orderly on a daily basis.  Conducts weekly staff meetings, evaluates staff members and maintains accurate camper attendance, records and reports.  Attends training and other meetings as requested.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Advertising Design Internship – Graphic Design – Summer 2016

We are looking for a highly talented individual interested in a full-time advertising design internship to work with a fast-paced business division at The Bradford Group. This individual will be responsible for the layout and design of promotional material and direct mail advertising, and will assist our Senior Designer on various projects as needed.

Responsibilities:
• Layout and design our housefile (existing customers) and new client direct mail advertising
• Assist Senior Designer with day-to-day duties such as maintaining server space, creating pdfs, and managing templates
• Other projects as assigned

Desired Skills
• Pursuing an Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Graphic Design or another related field
• Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator on a Mac platform required
• Some exposure to collectibles or gift ware industry is preferred
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work with other internal teams (Marketing, Product Development and Advertising)
• Ability to meet strict deadlines
• Writing and editing skills helpful, but not required
