Intern Opportunity
Title: Exhibit Project Management

Requirements:Strong communication skills (written
and verbal), Strong organizational skills, Creativity, Flexibility,
Self-direction.Additional preferred skills, experience and/or interest:Museum
or informal learning, Documentation/photography, Program and/or exhibit
evaluation, Bilingual Spanish fluency.
Description of Tasks:
The
interns’ primary responsibility will be working with the Project Manager and
respective team members to design, implement, analyze, and document evaluation
goals and tools for two exhibits: Snow
Much Fun (a temporary exhibit opening November 2013) and FACES: We Are Chicago Children’s Museum
(a permanent dynamic, community art installation).
The intern
will also support an update of the Visitor’s Collections digital photo gallery
in Michael’s Museum: A Curious Collection
of Tiny Treasures(a permanent exhibit), working closely with staff to
collect new photographs; develop a photo curation, and gallery rotation
schedule.
Additional
responsibilities will be determined by the intern’s experience and may include attending
department and exhibit team meetings, and/or increased responsibility in
project documentation.

Hours: Minimum
200 hours, 15-20 hours per week – 3 month commitment
