A common boundary or interconnection between systems, equipment, concepts, or
human beings.
The
relevance of technology to our culture is undeniable. It has altered and
adjusted the way we interact, receive, interpret and share information. Has this
changed our perceptions of what art is?
This
juried exhibition invites artists to submit work that investigates, discusses,
or is influenced by these issues.
All media will be considered.
JUROR:
Jan Tichy is an adjunct Professor at the School of the Art
Institute of Chicago in the Department of Art and Technology. Born in
Prague in 1974, Tichy moved to Israel in the mid-1990s. After studying at
Musrara School of Photography in Jerusalem and Bezalel Academy of Art and Design
in Tel Aviv, he moved to Chicago in 2007, where he earned his MFA from the
School of the Art Institute. Tichy has had solo exhibitions at the Herzliya
Museum of Contemporary Art; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Richard
Gray Gallery, Chicago; and the Center for Contemporary Art in Tel
Aviv.
Over the past
years his work has been included in exhibitions in Basel, Barcelona, Berlin,
Frankfurt, Helsinki, Jerusalem, New York, Paris, Prague, Stockholm, Tel Aviv,
Venice, and Washington, D.C. His work, Bats (2007), was acquired by the Museum
of Modern Art, New York. He has been nominated for Gottesdiener Prize in
2011.
