2015 Society of Illustrators Student Competition

The 2015 Society of Illustrators Annual National Student Scholarship Competition.

There is over $50,000.00 in scholarship winnings ranging from $100.00 to $5000.00 per piece of art.

Students/Graduates can enter any artwork done as a class assignment in any media or style including digital that has been done within the last academic year of school. (January 2014-December 2014) The school will pay for each student’s submissions up to five per student, so plan to submit your best work.

Approximately 200 pieces will be accepted in this year’s national competition. If a piece is selected in the preliminary judging, the original artwork will be requested for final review and awards selection. Digital prints are only accepted for digitally created works and must not exceed 18” x 24”. Student transcripts will be provided for all students accepted into the show to prove that you are a student at the Academy. Any work accepted will be printed in a full color catalog and exhibited in New York at the Society. In addition this year, any accepted work into the show would need to be framed and wired for hanging. The student artwork submissions will all be uploaded through a school administrator from the Academy. Students cannot upload entries individually. The work will be uploaded and submitted as an entire group by myself, as Co-Chair of the Illustration Department at the American Academy of Art.

Each image uploaded for jurying must be 72 dpi, RGB, JPEG at 1000 pixels wide on its longest side if it is horizontal or 800 pixels wide if it is vertical. You must e-mail me your attached images no later than Wednesday, January 28th. (The earlier you do this the better.)
