Volunteer Calls For Great Chicago Fire Festival
On September 26th thousands
will gather at Northerly Island for the Great Chicago Fire Festival
closing ceremony, a spectacular urban ritual that celebrates Chicago’s
people, history and culture.
Highlights include a neighborhood bazaar featuring 30+ local
artisans, 4 performance stages showcasing unexpected collaborations and
talent from Chicago’s neighborhoods, a citywide participatory spectacle
featuring hundreds of community collaborators, the burning of the GRIT
House, the symbolic rebuilding of The Resilience Skyline, and a
celebratory Fireworks Finale.
An event of this scale would be impossible without the help of
volunteers. We are looking for 500 volunteers to help with lines, crowd
flow, check in, hospitality, security, running of small items from one
end of the festival to the other, and providing information to
spectators, guests and participants.
We have many volunteer shifts available for groups of all sizes. Typical or approximate shift schedules are as follows:
Saturday, September 26th, 2015
7:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.
10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
2 p.m. – 6 p.m.
4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Times of all shifts are subject to change. The shifts listed above
are meant as a general guideline to understand availability. The actual
time of your volunteer shift may be different than the exact times
listed above.
As a small token of our thanks for your time and talents, we will provide a meal,
beverages and discounted tickets to upcoming Redmoon shows. Many thanks for your generosity! We look forward to hearing from you soon!
