Graphic Novel RFQ | "Reimagining the Wacker Manual"
In honor of the Chicago Architecture Foundation's 50th anniversary we have released a request for qualifications for a commission for a new graphic novel inspired by the 1911 Wacker Manual.
RFQ SUMMARY: The Wacker Manual was written in 1911 to inspire and equip young people to become stewards of the City of Chicago. The Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) will provide a $25,000 commission to the selected artist(s) to create an original graphic novel that illuminates a vision for how young people can get to know—and be civically engaged with—their city. The resulting novel will be printed and distributed to a diverse audience, including, in particular, Chicago Public School middle school students. The deadline for applications is February 26, 2016.
For more information, the design brief and a link to the application please click HERE or visit http://www.architecture.org/wackermanual
We are extremely enthusiastic about this project! Questions should be directed to wacker@architecture.org.
Thank you in advance for your interest in this project,
