Redmoon is seeking volunteers
for The Great Chicago Fire Festival on Saturday, October
4, 2014 and we’d like YOU to join the volunteer team! Please see

The Great Chicago Fire
Festival
On Saturday, October 4, the inaugural Great Chicago Fire Festival will light up the city with a
spectacle of fire on the Chicago River.
Highlights of the Spectacle will
include fiery cauldrons lowered from the bridges, hundreds of kayakers pulling
flaming buoys and prairie gardens, and three floating sculptures resembling
pre-1871 homes that will be set ablaze, each revealing a dramatic, symbolic
interior core. The finale will feature a fireworks display set to music and
moving tribute to Chicago's neighborhoods.
That afternoon, the riverfront
and Wacker Drive will host a pre-show bazaar featuring crafts, food,
performances, art and entertainment from Redmoon’s neighborhood partners: A
celebration of the people of Chicago.
In partnership with the City of
Chicago and the Chicago Park District, this free event was created to unite
Chicago’s neighborhoods and celebrate Chicago’s grit, greatness and renewal
following the Fire of 1871. Like Mardi Gras or the Running of the Bulls, The
Great Chicago Fire Festival will become a signature event for the City of
Chicago.
Volunteer
Opportunities
An event of this scale would be
impossible without the help of volunteers. We are looking for 500 volunteers to
help with lines, crowd flow, check in, hospitality, security, running of small
items from one end of the festival to the other, and providing information to
spectators, guests and participants.
We have many volunteer shifts
available for groups of all sizes. Most shifts will be during or close to the
following times:

2 p.m.
1 p.m. -
5 p.m.
4 p.m. -
8 p.m.
7 p.m. -
11 p.m.
Times of all shifts are
subject to change. The shifts listed above are meant as a general guideline to
understand availability. The actual time of your volunteer shift may be
different than the exact times listed above.
