Arts and Culture Intern - Chicago Children's Museum

Title: Arts and Culture Programs Intern
Department: Arts and Culture
Supervisors: Joshua Derbas- Arts and Culture Program manager & Lead Educator
Possible Majors:
 Art Education
 Education-general
 Early Learning Education
 Museum Education
 Fine Art and/or Theater- Studio majors with education backgrounds/experiences.
Requirements:
 Must have education experience from public education, daycare, camp, or other classroom settings.
 Must have some form of art background, visual-arts and/or theater, and be comfortable teaching studio art to a wide range of visitors and guests (including youth and their caregivers).
 Must have great communication skills and have an approachable demeanor.
 Must feel comfortable in a fast pace work environment, and be aware of surroundings at all time.
 Must have an open-mind and be comfortable around a wider range of people
Description of Projects &Tasks:
 Chicago Shakespeare Theater Partnership- Program-Lead @CST
o Assist Arts and Culture Program manager with running arts activity at CST.
 Artabounds Studio Family Workshop Educator
o Facilitate Family Workshop lessons one day a week, and assist in maintenance of studio space.
 General program maintenance, documentation, and research (when-needed).
Hours: Minimum 200 hours, 15-20 hours per week – 3 month commitment
Schedule: Wednesday through Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Site: Chicago Children’s Museum, Navy Pier
