Call for Art - Southern Shore Art Association Gallery

CALL FOR ARTISTS -  JUNE 2016 EXHIBIT You are invited to exhibit in the Southern Shore Art Association Gallery "BODY PARTS"  THE ART OF THE ANATOMY  Opening Reception First Friday, June 3, 2016 5:00-8:00pm    Torsos, limbs and eyes, fingers and toes, necks and knees, faces and other anatomical places will comprise the artworks on exhibition in the Southern Shore Art Gallery during the month of June. Both SSAA member artists and regional guest artists will be showcased. Representative works include paintings, photography and sculpture. Opening with a reception to meet the artists on festive First Friday in Michigan City's historic Uptown Arts District, the exhibition runs from Friday, June 3, through Sunday, June 26. Paintings, photography and sculpture will be accepted for this exhibit. Two-dimensional work should have professional wire with the wire ends taped (sawtooth hangers are not acceptable).     1. This exhibit is open to SSAA members as well as non-SSAA members.  You may enter up to 3 pieces.  For all artwork sold, SSAA receives a 25% commission from members and 35% from non-members.  For members, there is a $10 entry fee for this exhibit.  Non-member entry fee is $40 which may be applied to a membership ($40/yr.). Artwork should not previously have been shown in the gallery, must not have been created in a class/workshop and must be available for sale. Space determines if all of your pieces will be displayed. 2.With your entry for this exhibit, members are committing to share in the co-operative operation of the gallery for one afternoon by maintaining gallery opening hours, greeting visitors and managing sales.  The gallery is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12-5.  As an alternative, you may pay $30 for a substitute sitter.  Email star2421@yahoo.com to schedule your sit date. 3.  Exhibition of your work includes the commitment to be present during the exhibition opening, June 3, in order to greet visitors and achieve maximum exposure for you as an artist.  Exhibitor attendance hours are 5-6:30 and/or 6:30-8pm. Increase your exposure as an artist by submitting photos for exhibition publicity by May 19th.  Photo standards: 300dpi, straight-on view, in focus, no frame unless the frame is part of the artistic concept.  Send your photos to d2211@comcast.net.
