Requirements:
- Must own a Mac laptop computer with Adobe Creative Suite 5 to work on site
- Working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is required. Some knowledge of Dreamweaver and basic HTML is preferred, but is not mandatory.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong typography and layout skills
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills
Description of Tasks:
· Assist the museum’s in-house graphics team in designing and producing print materials, signage and web graphics
· Updating current documents to maintain brand consistency
· Participate in Marketing brainstorming sessions and meetings

Title: Photography / Imaging Intern
Department: Marketing/Graphics
Supervisors: Jon Resh
Possible Majors: Photography; Film and Video
Requirements:
- Must provide equipment: Camera, Laptop computer, Lighting equipment (if needed)
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of graphic and imaging software
- Availability to work some nights and weekends
Description of Tasks:
The photography intern will have the opportunity to photograph a variety of subject matter including exhibits, performances and activities for use in the museum’s marketing materials and website. Chicago Children’s Museum reserves the rights to all photographs generated.
Projects:
Babies belong at CCM
Capture visitor families in the museum’s early learning exhibits and programming spaces.
Play For All
Photograph Play For All events where children and families with disabilities are invited to come and experience CCM’s playful, multisensory exhibits and activities.
Museum Documentation
Document the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibits and public spaces.

Title: Arts Learning Intern
Department: Education
Supervisor: Manager of Arts Studio and Programs
Possible Majors: Art Education, Studio Arts, Museum Education, Performing Arts
Requirements:
Education experience with elementary-aged children, preschoolers and toddlers, Knowledge of and experience with diverse art forms, Ability to communicate with and lead groups of people, Documentation/photography experience, graphic design experience helpful, organization, creativity, flexibility, self-direction, imagination and patience
Arts Learning at Chicago Children's Museum:
Arts Learning programs offered in the Kraft Artabounds Studio include: family workshops, early childhood workshops, and visiting artist workshops. Arts programs offered museum wide include dance, drama or music workshops and performances. Displays of artworks created by children, caregivers and visiting artists can be found museum wide.
Description of Responsibilities:
The interns’ primary responsibility will be working with Arts Learning staff researching, implementing and documenting Kraft Artabounds Studio family programs, which serve our general visitors. Interns will work closely with Arts Learning staff to develop, prepare and lead art activities for family workshops. Interns assist in keeping the studio organized and preparing supplies for workshops. Interns record attendance and assist Arts Learning staff in record keeping. Intern will assist with archiving and documentation of 30 year studio project. Additional responsibilities will be determined by intern’s experience and may include planning and facilitating arts based special events, off-site programming or increased responsibility in documentation of programs and cataloguing of artwork.
